Beginning Apologetics
Apologetics: A branch of theology devoted to the defense of the divine origin and authority of Christianity. (merriam-webster.com)
Join us for this study of Catholic doctrine based on the Beginning Apologetics Super Set by Father Frank Chacon & Jim Burnham. Sessions will help you explain and defend Church teaching on the Eucharist, Mary, the saints, the papacy, tough moral questions, and End Times among other topics.
- Wednesdays, June 2-September 8, 7-8pm
- St. Clare Room
- We will follow Diocesan guidelines for Gatherings.
- Materials are recommended but not required. A limited supply of the complete series is available through the Faith Formation office with a suggested donation of $55. Individual books may be purchased in advance through Divine Treasures or a variety of online stores.
Small Group & Individual Studies
Adult Faith Formation has a variety of study materials available to checkout for individual and small group use.
- How – Come to the Faith Formation Office to check out available DVDs and leader’s materials.
- Where – You arrange for a location that works for you or your group – home, coffee shop, library, etc.
- Cost – No cost for use of DVDs or leader’s materials. However, you must order and purchase participant materials from the publisher.

Faith Journey – The Catechetical Institute
The mission of Faith Journey – The Catechetical Institute, sponsored by the Diocese of Des Moines, is to further students’ spiritual formation and deepen their understanding of the Catholic faith. The heart of the curriculum is based on the four pillars of the Catechism of the Catholic Church and provides a systematic presentation of the Catholic faith.
